Take Charge of 2019!

Happy January, Frank!

Welcome to 2019! Let It Shine In Twenty-One-Nine!

Firstly, if you made it through 2018 alive, congrats! 1% of the global population was not so lucky. You arrived in 2019 for a reason. If you don’t know that reason yet, may I suggest you spend some time figuring it out before too much 2019 sand leaves the year-glass?

Secondly, today is the youngest day of the rest of your life. You will never be this young again. What this means is: Take firm steps RIGHT NOW to put your health on a winning course for the rest of this year. Tomorrow, you will be older than today. You will have a little less energy than today. And the day after tomorrow, even less.

In a few weeks, my wife will be married to a senior. I mean: I’m turning 50. And, while 50 is the new 40, nine o’clock is the new midnight. I’m going to party till it hurts (short party…). Yippee! At last, I’m allowed to poke fun at oldies without feeling guilty, since I’m one of “them”.

Why am I telling you this? Jokes aside – right now, I’m healthier than I was at the age of 30. Or 35. Or 40. Or 45.

What changed?

I’m glad you asked.

I managed to find some of the many keys to slow or reverse ageing. No, I did not turn back the clock with a power drill. Here are some (but not all) of the things I’ve changed over the past 5 years:

9 capsules of spirulina every day.
1-2 Mega D3 pilss every week.
1 tablet Zinplex Triple Strength daily.
4 capsules Slow Carma daily.
2 g Vitamin C daily.

Oh, and then some fasting and some exercising.

As I said, this is not the full recipe. Maybe your eyes are already glazing over. But over the past 5 years, this combo gradually increased my health, overall wellness and energy levels to a point where I can keep up with my children (for they be many, and they be young).

Does that mean I don’t get sick? Nope, I still get sick. But I get over it quickly. No weeks of slow recovery. Is my health perfect? By no means. But my quality of life is really fab, compared to what it was when I turned 40.

I dare you: Make a commitment NOW to change just ONE LITTLE THING every month to improve your health. Make a New Month Resolution on the first of every month. Then spend the next 30 days implementing it rigorously, every day. At the end of 2019, you will have 12 new health habits under your belt.

You will never look back.

Here are some suggestions, if you’re stumped for ideas:

* Cut alcohol consumption or switch to red wine
* Stop smoking, or smoke less
* Cut out added sugar from your diet
* Limit / Cut out refined wheat products
* Limit / Cut out processed food
* Eat a bigger breakfast
* Add more healthy fats (avo, coconut, eggs, olive oil, etc) to your daily diet
* Do a little exercise directly after waking up
* Climb a flight of stairs (or more) every day
* Go for afternoon walks
* Drink water or tea instead of fruit juices, etc.
* Drink more liquid (2-2.5 L / day)
* Don’t eat or snack after 15.00
* Go to bed at the same time every night
* Go to bed half an hour earlier
* Turn off wifi at 21.00 every night
* No screen-time after 21.00

That’s just for starters. Each of the above tips is backed by science. Modify them to suit your situation, but take action TODAY.
