Celebrating Womanhood

Listen here:

Happy 8th of the 8th!

“A woman without her man is nothing”

Now let’s add some punctuation.

“A woman: Without her, man is nothing.”

There’s something wonderfully reassuring that South Africa still celebrates Women’s Day (and an entire Women’s Month, no less). The brave souls who ventured out on that cold winter’s day of August 1956 made a bold political statement regarding the unjust pass laws. Somewhat ironically, the main aim of their march now lies forgotten, its aims having been achieved. Unwittingly they made a much bigger, bolder statement which still resonates decades later: Take women (and womanhood) seriously.

Like love, being a woman needs no reason or justification.

It is a sad reflection on the world that this point needs to be highlighted.

It is even sadder that this point is constantly under attack.

At a time when the question, “What is a woman?” often elicits offence and indignation from certain corners of society, it is a beacon of sanity to know the question still has an answer in South Africa – at least on paper.

Strangely, when a (male) billionaire canons (or canonises) an all-female crew into orbit, the global media suddenly knows exactly what a woman is. Newspaper headlines rediscovered the difference between “he” and “she.” However, soon after that curiously phallic-shaped spacecraft touched terra firma, all that gender-specific love dissipated into mist.

Women, having been made from the flesh of a rational creature, have to share the planet with creatures made from dust. There are going to be subtle differences.

Let’s take health. A woman’s health needs are miles away from a man’s. Men only visit doctors when their hearts or Some Other Organ are in mortal danger. Women, on the other hand, have tons of reasons for visiting the doctor – not all of them mortal.

True, women and men have some things in common, too. For instance, they are united in their dislike of SARS (the SA Revenue Service, that is, not the virus) (but maybe also the virus, come to think of it). It is the often perplexing blend of similarities and differences that makes married life really REALLY un-boring.

A woman’s body is exquisitely tuned to nurture new life.
Not rocket science at all, right?

Here at Integrow Health, we listen to our customers. It so happens that most of them are women. This is why we have so many products specifically intended to improve the health of women.

Here’s a sampling…

The Irony of Low Iron

If you’re constantly exhausted, light-headed or suddenly craving ice or dust like it’s pudding – your body might be waving a white flag. Iron deficiency is still wildly common among South African women and it doesn’t care how “healthy” you try to eat. Menstruation, pregnancy and stress can all drain your tank.

You can eat all the spinach you want, but unless you’re also gnawing on half a cow, you might be fighting a losing battle. This is where Hema-Fit can help. It offers full blood-support with Vit B12, folate, beetroot and vitamin C on top of gentle iron. It actually works – unlike other iron supplements. No cramps, no constipation, no metallic burps. Just energy you forgot was possible.

Your red blood cells will write you a thank-you note.

Hormones, Hijacks and Hijinks

Ever feel like your body’s running a soap opera you didn’t audition for? One week you’re crying at dog food ads, the next you’re googling “Do I have a beard?” It’s not drama, it’s hormones hijacking the wheel.

Conditions like PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), insulin resistance or plain old hormonal chaos affect countless women and often go undiagnosed. You’re not imagining it. The cravings, the moods, the skin flare-ups… it’s real. That’s where Doc Frank’s Inositol comes in. It helps support hormone balance, ovulation, energy production (Yay!) and insulin sensitivity. All this without the meds that mess up everything else. Think of it as a signal booster for your body’s hormonal Wi-Fi. You can finally be in charge of your hormones and enjoy steady moods, clearer skin, no more sugar crashes. Less drama queen, more action heroine.

Note: This is our official launch of Doc Frank’s Inositol Powder 150g. One bottle should last you a month. Try it now!

The Cost of Care

Women are natural caregivers, but who takes care of them? Many South African women disproportionately carry the emotional and physical burden of kids, elderly parents as well as their partners, often neglecting their own health needs.

Mother Nature has taken care of this challenge. Sutherlandia (Cancer Bush) is the ideal adaptogen, helping women (and men) adapt to loss, grief and exhaustion.

Boobs, Braai and the Big C

You check your chops on the braai every 5 minutes, right? When last did you check your boobs?

Breast cancer remains a top killer. So, enter Doc Frank’s Mega D3. Vitamin D3 is scientifically proven to reduce the risk of breast cancer more than any other intervention. It will also help ease PMS symptoms, reduce breast tenderness and support better sleep. Peace of mind in a bottle.

Reach for the stars!

To your (nurturing) health!
