Description
DMSO is a naturally occurring organic sulfur compound derived from lignin, the substance that gives trees their structure. Known for its ability to penetrate biological membranes, DMSO acts as a potent carrier – delivering other substances deep into tissues. It also boasts its own anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and tissue-repairing benefits.
Who May Benefit
DMSO 99% may benefit individuals looking for natural pain and inflammation relief. Those following integrative or functional health protocols may benefit from DMSO’s exceptional ability to carry therapeutic compounds — such as magnesium, herbal extracts, or CDS — through the skin and deep into tissues, making it a powerful adjunct to other treatments. It is also used in integrative cancer care protocols, where its capacity to reduce oxidative stress and enhance the delivery of therapeutic agents makes it a sought-after supportive tool. Anyone looking to boost antioxidant defences and reduce cellular damage from free radicals may benefit from regular topical use. As always, internal use should be undertaken under the guidance of a knowledgeable health practitioner.
Uses
- Pain & Inflammation Relief: Topical use may reduce joint pain, muscle soreness, and swelling.
- Drug & Nutrient Delivery: DMSO penetrates the skin and cell membranes, carrying nutrients, herbal extracts, or other compounds (e.g. magnesium, CDS) into the body.
- Wound & Skin Healing: Assists in faster healing of wounds, burns, and skin conditions.
- Antioxidant Support: Scavenges free radicals, potentially slowing down cell damage.
- Nerve, Muscle & Autoimmune Conditions: Commonly used for scleroderma, shingles, and nerve pain.
- Cancer Care Support: Hundreds of studies suggest DMSO may play a role in cancer care. Its ability to transport therapeutic agents directly into tumors while protecting healthy tissue, reduce oxidative stress, and reduce treatment side effects makes it a valuable adjunct in integrative cancer protocols.
- Synergy with CDS: DMSO may enhance the effectiveness of chlorine dioxide (CDS) when applied topically over affected areas, potentially improving absorption and action.
